In May and June 2023, it is Europe in my Region, an opportunity to discover and visit the projects supported by the ERDF in Brussels-Capital Region.
The BoerenBruxselPaysans pilot project aimed to encourage consumer access to high-quality food via short circuits, raise awareness of sustainable food in all its aspects, and stimulate participation in local food movements.
The objective was to create a pilot project to be replicated elsewhere, and involving the entire sustainable food sector, from production to consumption. This pilot project was set up on the outskirts of the suburban territory, primarily in Anderlecht (Neerpede and Vogelzang). Today, the project is almost complete with the exception of building investments. Budgets for the methodological and technical support of project managers, training, provision of infrastructure and sites, the development of short processing and sales circuits, awareness-raising and networking initiatives are now complete.
BoerenBruxselPaysans voluntarily limited its scope to open-soil cultivation (and not soil-less cultivation).
The ERDF-BCR funds covered investment and operational expenditure (renovation of farms, purchase of equipment and material) distributed between the various actors in the project.
These partners are: Brussels Environment, Le Début des Haricots non-profit organisation, Terre-en-vue non-profit organisation, Maison verte & bleue non-profit organisation, Credal non-profit organisation and the Municipality of Anderlecht.
The trial site will be open so you can enjoy tours of the site. You can also buy your local vegetables, drinks and snacks while enjoying entertainment!
